Hold Still, This Won't Hurt A Bit
It'll just feel like a little pinch. Looks painful, right? I've had my eye on needle felting for quite a while but held off on acquiring new supplies since my craft cupboards already overfloweth, but once I stumbled upon the new Living Crafts magazine, I knew resistance was futile. Our local craft suppliers don't carry needle felting supplies yet so while on a recent trip to PA, I dragged the family over there made it a priority to make a pit stop at A.C. Moore and secured a trusty starter set of 2 needles and a foam block. I already had a few random colors of roving from past forays into yarn spinning and felt bead making (I told you the craft cup runneth over) so I've been stabbing and jabbing all weekend. I downloaded this bunny tutorial last year but just found it again in time for this year's spring extravaganza so I didn't follow the instructions for the needle felting as instructed. I first secured some wool yarn to the felted sweater in a heart shape and then just piled loose roving into the outline and felted away until the heart was completely filled and both the roving and yarn were secure to the backing. With any luck and decent time management skills, this completed herd of fuzzy creatures will make its way into the Easter baskets of some near and dear little folks.
*Disclaimer: No felted rabbits were harmed in the making of this project.

OOOOOhhhhh, sew sweet. I just had to snag a link to this craft and pic for my crafty Easter lens at Squidoo.
